Spotted: The Three Musketeers
Yup, ‘ol Alexandre Dumas himself. And props to the woman I saw reading this on the train. The edition she had looked rather unabridged, i.e. large and unwieldy. I wonder if this spotting had anything to do with the release of a new “Three Musketeers” movie sometime this year currently showing. Now, I acknowledge that I am more of a purist when it comes to making movies out of books. I still haven’t seen a decent movie version of The Comte of Monte Cristo. But I read the unabridged version of that, and granted, I don’t know if I’d want to see something that followed all thousand-something pages too closely. But, I mean, come on.
It’s like Pirates of the Caribbean meets a renfaire-d out The Matrix. So I hope she isn’t expecting the movie to be too much like the book. Or vice versa, I guess.
But, if you’d like to read the book, you know where to go!
