Spotted: The Price of Salt

Happy LGBT Pride Month San Francisco!  And what perfect timing to spot this book on the train.

The novel tells the story of two women, one just beginning her adult life in the big city and the other in her thirties going through a divorce, falling in love with one another.  In other words, girls who like girls…and boys, not so much!  And guess what else?  This was published in 1952 (years before Lolita) and it has a happy ending!  Unheard of!
